First Shot – Christy + Mark

Saturday, June 11th, 2011

Christy, Mark and I were supposed to invade University Circle this afternoon for their engagement session.  Fortunately, I found out that Parade the Circle was going on and we changed plans.  Instead we hit downtown Willoughby for a quick walk through the streets for some fun and great pictures.

More to come in week or so.  I have some film from this session that needs processed.  Don’t forget to come back though – you don’t want to miss the rest of this session!

Renee – Class of 2011

Sunday, September 26th, 2010

One of the cool things about photography (with a little help from Facebook) is that it has brought me back in contact with a lot of old friends.  Renee and I met before she was a year old.  Right there is the proof in color.

I was skinny and she was cute. Guess which one of us doesn’t look the same…. :/

I fell out of touch with her mom after college, but we crossed paths once again and in an effort to make me feel really old she asked if I would take Renee’s senior portraits. How could I refuse?

We met up earlier this week and walked through downtown Willoughby. I was one of the last hot days of the year most likely and we took advantage of that and even went down to the river and got a little wet.

And if Superman shows up then you have to take your picture with him. I’m pretty sure it’s a law.

Superman Walking – Allen Mullins

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

I met Allen this morning while shooting a senior portrait session in downtown Willoughby.  How can you not stop a guy in a Superman costume and ask for his portrait?

Allen is wearing that costume and making his way across the United States.  He’s walking to every state capital in the name of homeless veterans.  He wants to make sure they have someplace to come home to because they are Superheroes.

You can learn a bit more about Allen just by Googling his name. It seems every town he visits puts a little article in the local newspaper about him. You can also click HERE.

Extended Family Portraits

Sunday, July 18th, 2010

Michelle and Lynda sent me an email a few weeks back saying how much they liked my photos and that they would love to get together for me to shoot there extended family – they and their families have been close friends for years.

Then they gave me the whopper – do anything you want.  I was talking with my friend Andrea about this just the other day.  That kind of freedom immediately makes the mind go blank!

I managed to pull it together and we had a great, and hot, night shooting in Willoughby near the Chagrin River.   They were up for anything I threw at them and the shots came out great because of that.

After walking the trials for an hour we finally ended up down by the river. It was a much appreciated too since we were all hot and tired by that point. Just splashing around for a few minutes gave us all some energy.

We made it back to the parking lot with just enough time to for the boys to flip a few tricks on their skateboards before we had to call it night.

It really was a great session. We’re already talking about getting back together this fall to do it all again!
