About Left of Center Photography

I photograph people. Young families, newborns, expecting mothers and weddings. The approach is the same - capture people being who they are. Genuine smiles, laughs and love.

Beautiful – Agata

Thursday, May 23rd, 2013

I posted a single image from this session about a month or so ago and then just tucked the rest of the pictures away.  Not that I didn’t want to share – just got busy with other clients, and things around the house.  Don’t worry, Agata received her copies of the images almost immediately – the only people I was keeping them from was you!

People ask me all the time about favorite locations, what to wear, what to bring.  I always want to blurt out that we can head out to the middle of the street and make beautiful images there.  I’m simple that way.  Your pictures are about you.  Make them you – your style, your places.  I’m just going to point you in the direction that catches your good side.

But back to simple – what could be more simple than a black sheet and a white wall?

Now that I have some free time, I went back to the session and pulled out six of my favorite shots.  Hopefully they will be yours as well.

Elliette & Easton

Sunday, November 18th, 2012

Hard to believe that just about two years ago to the day I was taking pictures of these two at the hospital not long after they were born. Now they are running around their house like the own the place – they sort of do – and winning people over where their little pouty grins. I spent a Sunday morning a week or so ago chasing them around their yard after bribing them with Smarties to sit still for some shots on white seamless.

Baby Gabriel – Newborn

Monday, July 9th, 2012

I met Jessica last year when I was second shooting her wedding with the fabulous Andi of Photographs by Andrea.  It was a fantastic wedding and I was so glad to be a part of it.  It’s been almost a year since and Jessica just gave birth to baby Gabe.  Now, normally I wouldn’t go shooting another photographer’s client, but Andi is now out of state and babies change so quickly that it was important to get baby Gabe in front of the camera as soon as possible.  So a text from Andi, a couple of emails with Jessica and things were all set.

It was also important to me to get some great photos of this little guy as soon as possible so that they could be shared with his father who is back overseas and proudly serving in the Marines.  In fact, John managed to call during our shoot so he knows photos are on the way!

Enough of me babbling.  Let me introduce baby Gabriel to all of you!

Jessica & Marco: Engagement Session

Friday, June 8th, 2012

I met up with Jessica and Marco earlier this week and we explored Downtown Willoughby and Mentor Headlands for their Engagement Session.  Earlier in the day, I thought we are going to score the perfect evening.  The sky was blue.  A few puffy clouds were floating around.  The temperature was perfect.  As their shoot got closer, it got colder…and cloudier.  There is some debate that it even started raining as we made our way to Mentor Headlands.  Then luck turned our way.  Just as we were heading back to the car, the clouds cleared right where the sun was going down.  I was able to grab a few “golden hour” photos and get a nice colorful sky in a few shots!  All in all, another great session with a great couple.  Looking forward to their wedding next year.
