Tomorrow morning I’ll be getting up early to head down and volunteer with United Cerebral Palsy of Cleveland. This will be the second year that I’ll be shooting the event for them. I have to say, it’s really amazing to see how UCP helps these families and to see what these young children and their parents, families, and friends are capable of achieving!
Here is a video that was put together by UCP about the event. If you’re looking for something to do tomorrow morning, I’d say you should head downtown and cheer these families, and all the participants on!

Tri to…
Saturday, August 7th, 2010Mom + Jim
Tuesday, July 20th, 2010Yep – my mom got married. It was a simple little ceremony and done in the eyes of the church only, but it was special for her and Jim. I’m very happy for them. More importantly, they are happy with each other and that’s what it’s all about.
The also had all the needed accessories…
A photographer -
A maid -
and each other -
Congratulations to both of you!
Tyler said "Go!'
Monday, August 3rd, 2009Team Tyler crosses the finish line during the Cleveland Triathlon on Sunday. Eleven families of children with CP took part in the race to raise money of United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cleveland.
As the families reached out for donations I began to wonder if there was something other than money I could offer. I asked Team Tyler if I could photograph the race for them. With one parent taking part and the other watching their other children, I knew photography wouldn’t be the highest priority. My offer ended up getting presented to UCP and they wanted to know if I could shoot all the families. I didn’t even think about it. Of course I would and they could have the images to use for promotion for next years race and pass along to the other UCP families that raced that day.
The rest of the images are HERE.
Congrats to UCP, the racers, the volunteers and the families involved for a great event. I’d say I’m looking forward to photographing it again next year, but my wife and I are thinking of actually racing in it as part of Team Tyler! Of course, if we decided not to race, I will definitely be there with my camera in hand to capture the day again.

Fourth of July photographs
Sunday, June 28th, 2009The Fourth of July means only one thing for Left of Center studios – it’s time for the annual shooting of the grandchildren…with a camera.
It’s a tradition that pre-dates the studio. It’s founding is owned to JCPenney. A most fabulous group of photographers that has ever been. :/ When LoC emerged, the annual portrait moved inhouse – it may not be better than JCP but it’s definitely cheaper.
Only the two belong to me – fireworks didn’t happen that many times.
Oath of Citizenship
Friday, February 1st, 2008My friend Alan taking the Oath of Citizenship this morning at the Cleveland Federal Courthouse.
It was a neat ceremony to see and be a part of. Before being sworn in the judge gave them all an opportunity to tell how they felt about becoming a citizen or why they were choosing too. Some very moving comments were made. Once they finished they picked up a certificate and were met in the lobby from a Board of Elections official that got them all registered to vote. These new citizens were fortunate that the Ohio primaries are exactly a month from today so they will be registered in time to take part in the democratic process.
