Melissa and Ryan first showed up here when I shot there engagement session and wedding back in 2012. They looked like supermodels for both sessions. I was so excited when Melissa sent me a Facebook message saying they were expecting little Adelyn. We quickly setup some timing around her delivery date and waited. Well, the wait ended just about two weeks ago and little Adelyn made her debut to the world. Mom and Dad are very happy parents and their little girl is perfection. I was so glad I got to take her first professional photos! Can’t wait to see her again in six month to see how big she has become.
This session was taken back before the holidays, but I’ve been sitting on it since I knew the images were going to be given away to some folks as Christmas presents and I didn’t want to be the one that ruined the surprise! The plan was originally to shoot outside in University Circle, but the weather turned cold and windy so we moved into the beautiful new atrium at CMA. I’d say that worked out pretty well for us. We all did sneak out into the cold at the very end for one picture using the building exterior.
So – here are the pictures! I heard everybody loved the getting them as gifts!
Laura, RP and their daughter are pretty easy to photograph. Just look at those smiles. I was so glad I got the chance to meet them this fall and that they told me they were a referral. I love when clients send me more clients!
Lifestyle sessions are great. Really easy, they work great in the home and there is no pressure – nobody gets posed, nobody is told what to do – just sit back and have some fun. It’s like shooting a reality show.
This session was the second I had this day and another that beat the rain and had far better than expected weather. The rain plan had been to stay in the house, but after shooting in there for a while, we noticed the sun was shining so outside we went to get a few casually-formal portraits of the whole family!
Sometimes you just have to risk the rain.
Katie and I met on the first morning of a double header session a while back. It had been a beautiful weekend and was supposed to be a fantastic morning, but it was raining. Hard. Fortunately, we got lucky with a break in the weather that lasted just long enough for us to get the last picture taken. In the end, it was a great morning in downtown Willoughby taking Katie’s Class of 2014 Senior portraits!
Taking pictures of Jake was almost like taking pictures of family. Mostly because I have taken pictures of his family – almost more than my own. His family, his mom, his sister, and his little sister and brother have all spent time in front of my lens and every time it is nothing but fun.
I met Jake on a pretty chilly morning at his high school. We wandered around in my usual style and found some great spots to take a few photos. These are just a few of my favorites.
