Field of Dreams – Summer 2010

    Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

The Mitey Mite Little League team  I sponsor made it all the way to the championship game this year.  Their reward was to play at Classic Park – the home of the MLB Minor League Lake County Captains.

    Summer of 2010

I owe these guys a lot of thanks. They brought all us all along for a fun ride on hot summer nights. Easily one of the best coaching experiences I’ve ever had. The guys I coached with were great. The parents of these young kids were great. It was just fun and that was because everybody involved was just there to have a good time.

Since I coach, I don’t often get to take any pictures of them in action and nothing was different on this night. Once the game started I had to hand the camera over to my wife. I did take the pregame time to snap off a few shots of the kids though.

This is my son looking just a little focused. Or he’s sick of me taking his picture….

The crew for the Captain’s went all out too. They had us up on the Jumbotron. Too bad they didn’t tell us how to put out team names on the board. I guess Bay Village and Strongsville played the day before us.

    Jumbotron!

And that’s me coaching first base. Most of my duties consisted of yelling “run, Run, RUN!”. Occasionally, I’d switch it up to “Go! GO! GO!”

Thanks again to all the parents, coaches and kids involved. It was a great season!

    Cousins – It’s a Tradition

    Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

Every year, just before the Fourth of July, we get our kids and our nephews together to take a pictures of them all for the grandparents.  It’s tradition.  You don’t mess with that, right?

The whole group is six kids all under eight years old – ranging from two to eight for realz (my wife just told me I was using “actually” too much).   How hard is it to get eight kids to look at you?

    Not Interested

Actually (doh!), it’s not as bad as that looks. I was testing out the lighting and told them to relax.

Here is what’s cool about photographer’s kids. I just put mine on the log and got it one shot.

    Attitude

For me, the best shots came at the end of the session. I told them to just play. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – nothing beats taking a picture of a child just being a child.

    What are you looking at?

    Toes and Rocks

And, ACTUALLY, that’s all I have to say in the post.

    Carli + Kevin: Engaged!

    Sunday, May 30th, 2010

I had to get these photos posted immediately before Lebron James left and they became dated! :)

Actually, I had to get these posted quickly because I love them all!

Last night I met Carli and Kevin in Downtown Cleveland and we just sort of wandered around, stopping to take pictures whenever it looked right.  They were great sports and put up with me dragging to them to a bunch of different locations.   When we talked on the phone, Carli told me that Kevin wasn’t all that into photos, but I have no idea what she’s talking about.   He could be a model.  Heck, they both could be models!

    Mentor Headland’s Winter Wonderland

    Saturday, January 2nd, 2010

Actually, I wonder what I was thinking heading out to the beach with wind chills that had to be in the single digits if not lower.  Of course, the guy that was windsurfing one up’ed me in the dedication department.

    Dedication

Like the video said, I made it to the lighthouse without freezing to death.

    Frozen Breakwall

    West Beacon on Ice

The most interesting find of the day was this dried up bouquet of roses along the lighthouse breakwall. If anybody knows the story please leave it in the comments or email it to me. If you don’t know the story, make up what you think it might be all about! ;)

    Love on the Rocks

Then in the car and off to Mentor Lagoons for a quick walk. It was my first time there and I’m glad my good friend Andi (also crazy enough to make this trip with me) introduced me to the place.

    Winter Path

    Cold Calling

Let me know what you think of the video. I’m planning on including them more with the posts this year.
