Shida + Maurice: The Wedding

Saturday, April 2nd, 2011

Finally finished editing Shida and Maurice’s wedding pictures.  So many great shots and that’s all because they were so fun to work with.

I met up with Shida at the Glidden House while she was finishing her make-up and getting into her dress.  Maurice and the guys met us there a bit later for a first look.  I have to admit, I winged it on this and just got lucky that the elevator opened up into a great place to pull this off.  Maurice was very patient while Shida teased him from the open door of the elevator!  I’m not sure I would have waited until she came up and tapped his shoulder.

After the first look and a few formal pictures inside of Glidden, we all braved the cold temps and went outside to take advantage of the crystal blue sky and fantastic architecture that surrounds the CWRU campus.  It was a short – and cold – walk from Glidden to Harkness Chapel and it provided a few stops to grab some great pictures of the whole wedding party.  Did I mention it was cold?

The ceremony was perfect.  Lots of laughs and smiles.   Then it was off to Nighttown for the reception!  Great club and I think it fit the couples style perfectly.

I wish Shida and Maurice all the best and a future full of happiness.  It’s very easy to see they are perfect for each other and off to a wonderful start on their marriage!

Shida + Maurice: The Wedding Preview

Wow!

That pretty much sums up the day.  I had a beautiful bride.  A handsome groom.  It was a little cold, but the sun was shining and the sky was crystal blue – matched the groom’s eyes (according to my wife ;) ).

More shots to come later this week, but wanted a get up a few of my favorites from the day tonight.

Kayla + Sam: The Wedding!

Thursday, October 7th, 2010

The weather in Cleveland was downright nasty last weekend.  Cold, rain, wind…  Perfect weather…..for a wedding in ALABAMA!

Kayla and Sam got married in Bay Minette last weekend.  It was a nice way to spend the time between the Auburn game in the morning and the ‘Bama game that night. :)   War Eagle!  Roll Tide!

Actually, it was a great way to spend time with two people that are perfect for each other and ready to start a great future together.

Friday night we all met the First United Methodist Church for the rehearsal run through.  You can tell somebody was paying lots of attention!

A beautiful dress!

Kayla and Sam met in the first grade performing a play in the school auditorium. Some favors were called in and a somehow we ended up with the keys to the school so we went there after the ceremony for a few shots back where it all began for these two!

Plated Landscapes – Dinner in the City

Friday, August 27th, 2010

Last month Lori and I got a night away and went to eat with the fine folks from Spice of Life Caterers at one of their Plated Landscape events.  The food was fantastic.  The hosts were fantastic.  Ben, Brandon, Jess and the crew ooze cool.  I think they cook with it like it’s umami.

Last night I got to go behind the scenes and get all photojournalistic while covering their Urban Landscape dinner that was held at the Cleveland Botanical Garden’s Urban Farm on East 66th Street.  If you don’t think you can farm on your little backyard in the ‘burbs, you should stop down and check out what these guys are doing in the middle of Cleveland!  A really nice garden that provided a lot of the vegetables we ate last night.
