    One Last Winter Walk

    Saturday, February 27th, 2010

February is coming to an end and Spring should be just around the corner, but Mother Nature took one last chance (hopefully) to dump a whole bunch of snow on Northeast Ohio. I called up my good friend Andrea and off into the woods we went.

    Along the Boardwalk

And since it’s the end of the month, now is also the time to place “Ask LoC”! Got a question about you think only a photographer could answer? Got a question about how I do things or why I do things? Now is your chance! Comment or email questions and in a couple of weeks I’ll post answers.

    Frozen

A stream that feeds into Stebbins Gulch is frozen for the winter.

Below you can a see a fellow photographer shooting back up the main waterfall.  The shot gives you an idea of just how massive the ice formations in the gulch can become if the conditions are right.

    Below the falls

A sliver of black in the snow cover is the only indication that water runs here in warming times. This is below the falls in Stebbins Gulch. A unique geological area located on property owned by the Holden Arboretum.

As always, prints of any image posted in the blog is for sale.

    Fall Ohio

    Fall Reflection

Autumn arrived in Ohio over the past couple of weeks. I took these on an afternoon walk at the Holden Arboretum. It’s only a few minutes away from my other job and it’s a great place to get away from the office for a while during lunch.

One more step and I'll jump!

Just a frog on a rock.  An American Bullfrog to be exact.  He was nice enough to sit there while I unpacked all my camera gear to take his picture.
