Janice

Yesterday I had the privilege to take my friend Janice out to Mentor Headlands Beach and take some maternity photos of her.  This is fourth pregnancy and you wouldn’t even know she’s eight months along.  Big sister Johanna is hoping for a little sister to even out the teams since she and Mom out numbered by brothers Tyler, Cameron and Dad.

Thanks Janice! I can’t wait to take pictures of the little one when he or she gets here!

Getting Sand Kicked in Your Face

Saturday, July 18th, 2009

I headed out to Mentor Headlands this morning to get some fresh shots of the Fairport Harbor West Lighthouse. Yeah, I’ve got a thousand or so shots of it already, but you never know what you’ll find. The lake was rough and the sky had some great clouds so maybe a masterpiece was out there waiting for me.

I did shoot the lighthouse. Nothing I haven’t taken before, but while I was there I stumbled upon a soccer tourney that was taking place right on the beach. I guess Soccer in the Sand travels around the nation putting tournaments like this. Pretty fun to watch…and shoot!

Erie Ice

Ice from Lake Erie washes onto the beach at Mentor Headlands. In the distance, gray clouds of snow gather.

Lake Effect

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

I woke up to single digit temperature and 3″ of fresh snow with more on the way.  Perfect weather to head to the beach.

Lake Effect

A lonely snow fence guarding the beach from…well…from drifts, but I have no idea why that would matter.

Snow Fence

Somewhere past the end of the fence is the lake, but we never saw it until we got down by the lighthouse.
