Family: Kathy, Nick & the Girls

Monday, March 19th, 2012

I first shot Kathy and Nick’s family about a year or so ago around the holiday season.  That was an indoor session down at the Old Arcade.  This time we took advantage of the beautiful weather to get out and have some fun at the beach.

Amazing to be doing beach shoots in Cleveland in March!  In shorts no less!

We strolled along the shore of Lake Erie for about an hour, took some great pictures and ended up back at our cars just as an afternoon rain shower blew in.

Class of 2012: Madison

Monday, September 5th, 2011

While Madison doesn’t go to school out in Vermillion, it’s where she spends a lot of her summer and with family and friends so it made for the perfect spot to head to for her senior portrait session.  We spent a bit of time down on the beach and then strolled through town stopping when a spot looked interesting.    I have to say, I think things turned out pretty good.  I’m a little biased, though, she is my niece!

Kathy & Matt: Engaged!

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011

Kathy and Matt are firefighters through and through.  The have a lot of years in with the force and it’s their way of life.  They even met on the job.  So, with that in mind, how can an Engagement session not start down by the Firefighter’s Memorial near the Great Lakes Science Center.  From there we just strolled around the Rock Hall and lake front for about an hour taking in shots and having a great time.  Can’t wait to shoot their wedding next month!

Courtney & Joe: Engaged!

Friday, August 12th, 2011

I really thought about calling this post old bike and moldy cheese but I ended up sticking with my regular style.  Maybe that’s for the best.

I met Courtney and Joe at the park in Rocky River.  They had brought along a couple of bikes from Joe’s collection or 15 or so rides.  The ones on this night were from the 50′s and 70′s.  Cool old rides.  After a few spins around the park it was off to another location down by the river.  There I learned that Courtney and Joe met over moldy cheese.  I also learned how distracting ducks can be!  Last stop for the night was Whiskey Island.  The plan was to grab some shots against a stunning sunset and fiery orange sky.  That didn’t happen.  I’m 0-3 when it comes to sunsets and engagement sessions this year!

Courtney and Joe are getting married this fall so I’ll be sharing pictures from the wedding soon!

2011 Cleveland Triathlon – United Cerebral Palsy

Wednesday, August 10th, 2011

Without a doubt, one of the most rewarding relationships that I’ve developed has been with the incredible people at United Cerebral Palsy.  Three years ago I became involved with them when I volunteered to help shoot pictures of their involvement with the Cleveland Triathlon.  I had a reason to help out in that a friend from high school had a son that had CP.  Little did I know what I would be getting into.  Back then it was a dozen or so families that pushed and pulled their children around the downtown in an effort to raise money and awareness for UCP.  Since then the number of families has grown and so have the abilities of those children that were once pushed and pulled.  This year two of them rode bikes and one walked the course on her own!   It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you just try.

I’ve taken this exact same picture of Chris and Tyler three years in a row.  I will take it again every chance I get.
