I had a blast spending the day with Courtney and Joe in and around downtown Cleveland earlier this month. The day started off at the Renaissance before heading over to St Luke’s in Lakewood. Their family and friends packed the church for the ceremony. That’s always great to see. Then we headed over the Great Lakes Brewing Company and basically took over the basement bar for a some fun shots before making one more stop in the Flats on our way to Sammy’s for the reception.
The bride wore blue shoes and the favors at the reception were home brewed beers – how cool is that?!

I first met Lauren about a year ago when she was a bridemaid at Carli and Kevin’s wedding. I had no idea then that almost a year later I would be shooting her engagement photos or heading off to Mexico to be a part of their wedding day in 2012.
She’s a nurse. He’s a fire fighter. They met on the job and she knew right away she had found Mr. Right! That was a few years back, but she obviously knew what she was talking about. Eric is a great guy. I’ had a lot of fun talking with them about their wedding, engagement, sports, the housing market…we talked…a lot…
First stop on our evening shoot was at Eric’s fire station. I swear, this has been a year of firetrucks for me. Third shoot this year around a big red truck. I told the rest of the guys at the station that is was their job to heckle Lauren and Eric as I took pictures but none of them stuck around once I broke out the camera. After we finished up there we made a trip down to the east bank of the Flats and East 4th St. We even snuck into the Old Arcade long enough to get one picture on the steps before security caught on to what we were doing. But since they didn’t actually make it over to tell us to go away then we really didn’t do anything wrong, right?
