Jessica + Yacine: The Wedding Preview

Sunday, June 19th, 2011

What a great time I had yesterday!  Jessica and Yacine came into Cleveland from NYC to get married.  Cleveland is Jessica’s hometime, but she’s truly international – just like her new husband.  Honestly, people flew in from all corners of the globe to take part in their special day.  I’m glad I was able to go along for the ride.

Family Portraits – Old Arcade Style

Tuesday, April 19th, 2011

I had a great session down at the Old Arcade in Cleveland this past weekend.   Sure getting in my have been a problem on a day when they weren’t open to the public, but once inside we had the whole place to ourselves.  There were only a few hotel guests walking around.

You probably recognize these people.  They’ve been on the blog more than once before.  Could be my best regular customers are this point, although a few others are starting to challenge for that title!  Regulars customers are an awful problem to have! ;)

Oh yeah! Super cute baby is cute!

I’m usually taking pictures of the girls when I get together with this family, but this time I paused long enough to get a nice shot for Mom and Dad.

Kathy + Nick & Family

One of the cool things about photography is that I’ve met a lot of really interesting and fun people.  Now mix photography and Facebook is that I’ve been able to reconnect with a lot of interesting and fun old friends.

Last weekend, I went out and with Kathy, Nick and their daughters for some family portraits.  Kathy and I are friends from high school – maybe middle school – and Nick and I used to work together at a hardware store one summer.

The original plan was to work outdoors.  Cleveland weather quickly made us change plans as it ended up in cloudy and cold.  Instead we all went downtown and indoors at the Old Arcade.

Puddles of Light

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

My good friend, Andrea, and I went scouting locations for some weddings we’re shooting together next year.  She needed a tour guide for Cleveland and I just needed and excuse to go downtown and shoot.

Among our stops was the old Cleveland Courthouse.  We found these fantastic puddles of light coming through the windows on the second floor.  The building was being setup for a reception and that was great as it gave us a good idea of how it will look when we get our chance at the place.

From there was hustled over to the Hyatt Hotel in the Old Arcade. There was a wedding being shot there as well. I’m sure we would have been doing it better. ;) There wasn’t a whole lot of other activity going on except for these guys taking in the quiet afternoon with a game of chess.
