Plated Landscapes: Auburn Twin Oaks

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011

A few weeks back I got to spend the evening with Ben, Brandon, Jess and the rest of the crew that makes up Spice of Life Catering while they served up dinner at Auburn Twin Oaks Winery down in Chagrin Falls.   This is the third year I’ve work with Spice of Life on these dinners and they just keep getting better and better.

The night began with appetizers and cocktails before heading out on a short tour of the winery.   As usual, dinner followed the tour.  Each course was paired with a wine from Auburn Twin Oaks.   Once we were happy and fed, we all walked back up to the main building for more wine and dessert.  Did I mention this place had wine?  There was very good wine.  And chocolates.  And pork belly.  And sirloin…  The meal was good.  Better than good.  It always is.

Not sure how many dates are left for this summer, but if your interested give Spice of Life a call and book one of these meals before the season ends.  If you can’t get in this year, then you should make a point to get out and spend an evening or two with them next year.  It’s a great time!

Class of 2012: Rhiannon

Monday, August 29th, 2011

So I mentioned in an earlier post that I met Rhiannon out at Holden Arboretum for her senior pictures.  She probably had the best weather I’ve had all summer for a portrait session – blue sky, cool temps..and well…lots of bugs.  It was the “best night” not the “perfect” night. ;)

Most seniors seem to take a while to warm up for the camera.  Not Rhiannon.  We got right into and she was a natural in front of the lens.  Her and her mom let me drag them all over the Arboretum – and they put up with the bugs.  Did I mention bugs?  If they had been bad guys I would have felt safer because  Rhiannon is a black belt in karate.   That knowledge probably helped keep me from asking to do things that were way too crazy!

Home from a great shoot out at Holden Arboretum.  It was a perfect night and Rhiannon was a great sport as I made us walk all over the place.  There will be more in a few days, but here’s shot to get you started!

Going to the Chapel: Chrisy & Mark

Thursday, August 25th, 2011

Earlier this summer I shot Christy and Mark’s engagement photos.  We had a blast that day.  Now their wedding is only two days away.  I can’t wait to spend their wedding day with them.  If the rehearsal is any indication, it’s going to be a hilarious good time full of love from family and friends!

And remember, after you exchange rings you give the rock to the minister!
