Carli + Kevin: Engaged!

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

I had to get these photos posted immediately before Lebron James left and they became dated! :)

Actually, I had to get these posted quickly because I love them all!

Last night I met Carli and Kevin in Downtown Cleveland and we just sort of wandered around, stopping to take pictures whenever it looked right.  They were great sports and put up with me dragging to them to a bunch of different locations.   When we talked on the phone, Carli told me that Kevin wasn’t all that into photos, but I have no idea what she’s talking about.   He could be a model.  Heck, they both could be models!

LoC Soccer!

Defense!

Last year I started sponsoring some of the city sports teams. That’s my boy wearing #7 and sporting LoC on his shirt. This year, I’ve got one soccer team, a softball team, and a baseball team. It’s a great way to help out the city leagues and my kids think it’s pretty cool to be on Dad’s team!

Offense!

I don’t get to shoot the games much since I also coach soccer and baseball. Softball I’m in the clear so there may be a whole lot of pictures from my daughter’s games showing up!

Hungry

It’s been a while since I just went out and shot for fun – just picked up my camera and did whatever I wanted with it.   Today I did just that.  I got off my @ss and shot (GOYA).

The first picture in this post is one of two robin’s nests that are in the yard this year.  These guys are the youngsters.  The other nest if full of ugly babies that already have their feathers coming in and barely fit in the nest anymore.

Lace Curtain

This next shot is the light at the top of the steps leading up to my bedroom.  It’s being filtered by a lace curtain and a venetian blind.  It happens every night that isn’t cloudy at just about 7:30PM.  Anybody want to come and stand in here and have their picture taken?  I think a portrait would work really nice.

Communions

Sunday, May 9th, 2010

Yesterday I had the honor of shooting the First Communion portrait of my friends Leah and Jordan.  We go way back to since they are also on the soccer team I sponsor and have been listening to me yell from the sidelines for three or four years.

This session was a while in the making.  It got delayed twice.  I’m really glad we pulled it off because the session paid off with some really nice shots.

Prayers
They were perfect little models and just as angelic as they appear.  I have to admit, though, it was weird not seeing them in shorts and spikes running around on the soccer field like I usually do!

Marriage Lesson

Life really is incredible when you think about it. Michelle and Kevin met back in grade school at the Catholic church they ended up getting married in. They both did their own thing for a long time but when people are meant to be together they also seem to find each other again.

This was really a great wedding to shoot, Michelle and Kevin were a great couple and didn’t mind me dragging them all over the place for shots after their ceremony. Patience is incredible too. ;)

St. Mary Magdalene is the church I go to with my family as well. I’ve been there (just about) every Sunday. I know a lot about it, but I never really looked at it much through the lens. Michelle and Kevin wanted to capture the church and the grounds around it because they had so many memories there.
