This little lady took up shop just outside LoC HQ on Mother’s Day and her eggs hatched last week. The babies are finally big enough to really reach out over the nest when she comes back to feed them.

Feed Me!
Thursday, May 28th, 2009Thank You
Monday, May 25th, 2009It’s Memorial Day here in the States. That means bbq’s and parades – the end of the school year and the start of summer. But it also means taking a moment to thank those that have served our nation and made the greatest sacrifice.
My Grandfather was one of those men that went off to fight in WWII and never made it home.
Thanks Grandpap! And thank to all those that have served or are serving today.
We are family
Saturday, May 16th, 2009It’s been a long time since I’ve been nervous about picking up a camera and going out to shoot anything, but when a peer in the photography industry asks you to shoot her and her family – well - got nervous.
Andrea is a fantastic photographer and I wouldn’t hesitate at all to recommend her to anybody for portrait work – unless of course, I’m not booked and then there is no reason to call her at all.
The original plan was to go the Mentor Headlands, but Mother Nature had other plans and at the last minute things were moved to Squire’s Castle because it has a roof. Ironically, as soon as we arrived the rain stopped and the sky got nice and blue. Still I think Squire’s turned out to be a better location.
The only thing that matters in the end is the pictures. We all seemed to have a good time and the shots turned out great.
Left of Center @ MSASS
Wednesday, May 13th, 2009Paul Lender, Environmental Photographer
Exhibit Dates: May 1, – July 6, 2009
Paul Lender, an environmental photographer, has his work currently on display throughout the first floor of the Mandel School. According to his artist statement, he strives to capture the world around him as close as possible to the way he sees it. He aspires not only to highlight the beauty found in expansive landscapes, but also the magnificence found in small details.
Lender’s passion is a recent one; he became interested in photography in high school but rediscovered it when the digital format made it more accessible to him. A few years ago, he purchased his first digital SLR camera and developed his style by shooting as often as possible.
Paul Lender’s work has been displayed at the Kelly Randall Gallery in Cleveland, the Michael Stefan Salon in Willoughby, and the Lava Lounge in Cleveland. In 2008, Lender formed Left of Center Photography, a business that focuses on portrait photography. More information on Mr. Lender’s work is available on his website: http://leftofcenterphoto.com/
Please contact June Hund and Kristen Kirchgesler at (216) 368-2302 or at artonthewalls@case.edu for more information about the exhibit.
